Nahum 3:7-9

New International Version

⁷ All who see you will flee^(A) from you and say,
    ‘Nineveh^(B) is in ruins^(C)—who will mourn for her?’^(D)
    Where can I find anyone to comfort^(E) you?”

⁸ Are you better than^(F) Thebes,^(G)
    situated on the Nile,^(H)
    with water around her?
The river was her defense,
    the waters her wall.
⁹ Cush^[a](I) and Egypt were her boundless strength;
    Put^(J) and Libya^(K) were among her allies.
